I know it’s a lazy extrapolation, but if you look at the way the Apple viewed the Phone competition at the time, and the places it thought it could do better, those places still exist with the current crop of smart watches.

So, a colour screen, better connectivity, no physical buttons (other than, you know, the physical buttons), the iTunes store, Passbook, and internet connectivity built in…

(…almost certainly via the iPhone)…

…and Siri.  Because if you get to talk to your wrist and book your flight via a personal digital assistant, you ARE Dick Tracy.
